Review: L'oreal True Match foundation in D/W7 Golden Amber

My L'oreal True Match was purchased in Paris, hence the oh-so-fancy French letterings.

Let's go ahead and break down the good and the bad.

The Good
  • Somewhat elegant glass bottle
  • Has a pump (always a plus!)
  • Semi-dewy finish
  • Sheer so gives a natural look
  • Has SPF17

The Bad
  • Shade not an exact match for my NC43-44 colour (it might your perfect match, of course!)
  • Doesn't last long on skin
  • Transferable to clothing items
  • Oxidises after a while
  • Gives off a hint of white-ish / grey-ish hue around the face (due to either SPF or wrong undertone)
  • Skin turns oily after a while
This foundation is definitely not for those looking for a full coverage, so concealer is your best friend here.

I purchased this foundation on sale for 10.99 EUR at Auchan supermarket in La Defense, Paris; the normal retail price would be around 14.50 EUR. You can also get this in any Monoprix in Paris.

L'oreal True Match is sold in Malaysia but the last time I checked, we unfortunately only get up to W5 in the 'Warm' range.

Final verdict: I won't be repurchasing this foundation, even if it's on sale. I'm actually a little intrigued about shade W6 but I think I would just go as far as testing the shade out and not buying it. All in all, I'm glad I've tried True Match W7 out as it was on my Wish List for so long!

I wonder if you have a happy-ending story with your L'oreal True Match? Please share with me so that I can remain hopeful about shade W6 (which, I read, is Freida Pinto's shade, but I can't tell if she and I have the same skin tone).
